Oh look, it’s Skittles again! How do you find the time? ;-)

I’ve just added to my left sidebar a new feature showing the ‘top commentators’, which as it suggests, shows the people leaving the most comments. It’s reset to zero once a month to keep it fresh, but it does also include a link to your blog/website so it’s a good way to get some prime publicity….
I also have another plugin I’m just about to install that will allow you to subscribe to the comments of a particular post. Anytime someone leaves a follow-up comment, you will be mailed to let you know. You can unsubscribe your self easily at any time. Look out for the check box under the main comment box.

Thanks to the authors of these plugins: Top Commentators and Subscribe to.

BTW Rose, using 2 different names is cheating! ;-)

    That’s one more for me…

  2. Rose says:

Correction, skittles is not top. I am as Rose and Rose DesRochers are one of the same person. I have made 36 comments on your blog where skittles has only made 25, so I guess you should be asking me where I find the time? Make that 37 comments now.

  3. Chris says:

Like I said Rose, using 2 different names is cheating…. ;-)

Where do you get the time then?

  4. Rose says:

I’m not cheating, how on earth do you see it as cheating? :) You’ve commented that you added a plugin and “skittles” is the top commenter on your blog. I just felt the need to correct you that you are wrong.

Sometimes I choose to sign as Rose other times I sign as Rose DesRochers. They are both me so that is not cheating. The links still take you to my blog. I thought that you of all people would be more observant and see that. You did not need to edit you post (even if meant in humor) to comment that I was cheating, but whatever floats your boat there Chris.

  5. Rose says:

How on earth do you find it to be cheating? It is the same person and links to the same blog.

  6. Pinksy says:

Hey Rose, it doesn’t matter that much does it?!!

    (one more for me…)

  7. Pinksy says:

@Chris – do you realise you’ve made this a challenge!

  8. Chris says:

Rose, the post has not been edited…. I’ve replied to your mail. ’nuff said.

Pinksy: this plugin’s done a number on you hasn’t it? – storming up the charts!!

  9. Ms. Cheater says:

Pinksy of course not and Chris I do apologize. When I first read the post, I did not see that comment there. Hmmm, I must have missed it! Oh well!

    One more comment for me.

  10. Skittles says:

Look what you’ve stirred up now ;)

  11. Erika says:

I have a new goal. To be at the TOP of that list :-)

  12. Erika says:

I just topped it! (with this comment)

  13. Rose says:

I have the same plugin on my blog now, but it will take a lot to make the top spot.

  14. Chris says:

    Skittles, I have a big spoon…. ;-)

    Erika, you are shameless…..

Rose, do you set yours to refresh? I’ve set mine to reset to 0 every month, time will tell if it does or not….

  15. Claire says:

    OH a challenge!

  16. Claire says:

    how does this work?

  17. Claire says:

    just add comments like this?

  18. Claire says:

Me again, so how about this weather?

  19. Pinksy says:

Thing is Chris, you should have exercised those PHP muscles, and done this without a plugin!…

  20. Chris says:

I’m going to exercise those PHP muscles on Claire if she keeps on… ;-)

I don’t actually know the first thing about PHP – Want to write an article about it for Blog-Op?

(I resent all of you who say I go in for shameless self-promotion – I have no shame)

  21. Claire says:

i have no idea what php is?

  22. Claire says:

still dont know what php is?

  23. Erika says:

I dont know what PHP is either. But it sounds like some kind of drug :-/ haha

  24. Rose says:

I set it to all, because it was not working right.

Ps: I write blogging articles, but I don’t know PHP that’s my hubby’s department.

  25. Chris says:

    PHP= Personal Home Page tools.

Now changed to mean Hypertext PreProcessor.

It’s a form of programming used to generate webpages on a server – eg WordPress blogs. To make the little widgets appear on the sidebar I edit the PHP files (all simple stuff) in the same way you edit HTML to add stuff to your Blogger blogs..

    See, educational & entertaining :-D
