Hey, what's that out the window. The Rocky Mountains? So, uh, yeah. Actually, I don't mind wolves. It's the grizzly bears that I hate.
As far as Beavers....I just hate those damned teeth!

hmm the degree i didnt finish was eclogy so i did something on this. As stated the likelihood of wolves attacking is low. But If the locals really don't want it, then they shouldn't do it. As its them that has to deal with the increased eco tourists, who would probably cause more damage!
I would go walking in the forests though, i do love the walking! it might frighten away tourists and i would have the hills to myself!
Also they are thinking of re introducing Beavers, what do you think about that?

I'm worried that I look like a sick deer from behind ;-)

I sometimes wonder if, when humans have cocked things up, we should just leave it alone. There is very little true wilderness left in Scotland, and the linked report makes you wonder if it's just a way of setting up a wolf hunting park...

There IS apparently wolves around here...some have showed up on the gulf islands..they swim!

But they are very reclusive and rarely seen.

The big danger here is Cougars who HAVE carried of children out for a stroll with their folks.

While I know there are vast tracts of land in Scotland unpopulated...it isn't THAT vast and so I worry about them coming into too much contact with humans..but have never heard of them attacking one.

With animals like deer they usually track the oldest, injured or sickest.

I have a friend that lives in Idaho, where they have re-introduced wolves, and there is really not much danger from them. They have also been re-introduced into Yellowstone Park, and have thrived. I know they have a negative reputation, but they really are a natural element to keep herds in check. Wolves don't kill people. People kill people. :)
