Sick of lorries and vans getting stuck in their tiny little village, due to their drivers blindly following SatNav and not using their eyes, the village of Exton in Hampshire, UK, have come up with the following sign:

SatNav

Fair play to them. We are constantly getting stories of drivers with brains off, and SatNav on, getting stuck in deep fords, or finding themselves in a field. If Blair wants to control us as much as he seems to, all he needs to do is issue orders via SatNav, and there’d be an army of unthinking drones obeying his every word.

I like the idea of SatNav for ‘toy value’, but really: I don’t need it for Gods sake, I’m a man! I can read a map! What’s wrong with these people? ;-)

Anyone here use SatNav? Had any comical expeiences with it?

Yes, SatNav is very nice, and comes in handy on occasion, but I agree with you. Other than perhaps providing route “suggestions”, I find very little value in it. I must say that in the city, the traffic alerts and re-routing information (especially when out of town in an area I am unfamiliar with) is a very nice feature.

    Have a great day!

But would you stop and ask directions? :)

  3. Steph says:

No Skittles, that’s what I’m there for ;op

You’re certainly not there for your navigational skills dear….shall I tell the good people about your map reading in France….?

  5. Alison says:

I don’t blame them, I can well believe idiots just driving across a field, because someone told them to do it…

  6. Steph says:

That’s completely different – you were shouting at me and I hadn’t been paying attention…..

  7. Chris says:

You were asleep and drooling as I recall…

  8. Steph says:

Not true!! I was admiring the wooded valleys……
