Wait In Line!

We’ve all been here: The Tool Who Takes Forever In Line
I was grabbing breakfast at a local grocery this morning, and running late.? As usual at such an early hour, there was only one register open, with three people already waiting in front of me.? With a sigh of resignation I settled behind the lady with the full handbasket.? Imagine my pleasure as she carefully split her goods into two piles on the conveyor belt, separating them with a plastic divider - yet failing to put another divider behind her second order for me.

Do read the remainder of the tale-even I haven’t seen that before. I’m afraid I’m one of those people who whilst in line for the checkout, mentally adds up the cost of the goods, and has exact or nearest change ready. I bag up quickly, ready to take change & receipt immediately & then move to one side to put things back in my wallet.

What I don’t do is take 3 weeks to pack my bags, look surprised when the cashier asks for money, take 10 minutes sorting through my purse to find £0.50 worth of coupons, pay in Elbonian dollars, spend a short ice-age re-packing my purse in alphabetical order before finishing off my packing.

Ladies, I’m looking at you.

Excuse me…I’m usually the one plotting those peoples’ demise!

I used to be a chashier. I hated people like that… We have baggers at almost all of our stores(markets anyway) here… but I worked at the (only) one where you bag your own… The belt split at the end so two different people could be bagging at the same time, but the slow ones… UGH!

We mainly bag our own stuff in the UK, and most people are ok… If you do let someone pack your bag for you, they usually put the flour on top of the eggs that kind of thing, probably trying to put you off having it packed in future!

I’ve never found it that much of a chore to pack my own bags though.
