I’m a fan of quality optics and have a soft spot for Telescopes in particular. I have a Tasco 2″ Refractor which I’ve had for years, and I guess I’ll have to get it out for my children soon as they’ll love it. It’s amazing the detail you can pick out on the moon, even with a cheap telescope, and I’ll never forget the first times I found Mars and watched the moons orbiting the planet, or the glimpse I had of the rings of Saturn-you can see it a hundred times in print, but once with your own eyes is priceless.

So if you’ve ever been tempted, check out a site like Astronomics.com and find the right telescope for you. They’ve been in business nearly 30 years, and take pride in the knowledge of their staff - Their well put-together website has everything you need, including contact numbers and emails to answer any questions you may have. I’m sure they’ll find you a better telescope than I have!
