I never expected to be suffering from heat stroke after our move to Scotland, but by any standards this summer has been awful, about the only crumb of comfort is that it’s been like this for the whole UK. It’s been the kind of weather where instead of just going out and enjoying the sun, you end up seeking out recreation under cover, and inevitably letting your credit cards take the strain.
When on holiday we ended up paying for numerous treats that the weather couldn’t really affect, like the steam train rides, or visits to an aquarium, and when you then factor in having to pay to eat out at these locations as well, I think I shall have to do some research into balance transfers to spread the load a little. Still, we may have spent a little too much at times, but one thing I wouldn’t do is borrow money just to go on holiday. Taking out loans is a serious business at the best of times, and I can’t imagine taking on years of debt for a few weeks holiday, which could end up being spent in weather like this summer’s!
