I first saw pictures of the Grand Canyon Skywalk on Weirdomatic, and thought it looked pretty cool, if a little on the ‘brown trouser’ side for actually walking around the glass paved viewing gallery, but it appears it’s not just the view that’s alarming.

Skywalk

Apparently it’s going to cost the best part of $75 each to walk around it, and that’s after a 20 mile drive over rough dirt tracks to get to it. Impressive it may be, but it’s free to lean over the edge and look down…

Any takers?

It looks like a great “lover’s leap” to me. One dose of vertigo and over you go. If our government didn’t mess around witht he money that would rightfully belong to this Indian tribe, they wouldn’t have been so succeptible to the corporation who paid them to build it. Somehow, the whole thing just doesn’t look ‘wind worthy’ to me either.

You’re not the only person to make that point (not about the wind, ‘tho I agree with that too).
