Six Months Is A Long Time In Blogging

Six months ago:

  • Claire was stuck in Brora (they eat their young up there), and was having trouble blogging with her sisters nipple (on the laptop!). December seems to have been a month of much coursework and even more drinking.
  • I had just launched Blog-Op, which I’ve amazingly managed to keep going, and further enhance by having the afore-mentioned Claire as a writer on board. It was way back then that I first wrote about TextLinkAds which have been making me money ever since.
  • David Airey was posting some photos from his trip to Thailand (the flash git ;-) ) and telling us why marketing should make the manuals! I agree with the sentiment David, but if you’ve ever read Dilbert by Scott Adams, you would find out why marketing don’t write instruction manuals….
  • Goldcoaster was oohing and aahing over some Wordpress porn for geeks, the mucky little devil and showing us that Australia had it’s own Google Christmas logo. I guess that passes for entertainment in the land of Neighbors and Home & Away ;-)
  • Finally, Pinksy was wishing us a Happy Christmas with the child protection squad of Bethlehem, and showing us to take care with anything that’s the last of it’s kind….

Those of you without date based archives made this harder!

What were you doing blog-wise 6 months ago? I tag anyone reading this line to post about it - think of it as a chain letter that you can’t rip up and throw in the bin ;-)

Six months ago in Second Effort — if that’s 11/30/06 — I was whining about the end of a very late in the season heat wave and comments (about a prior post on fusion power) that I didn’t understand.

If six months ago was 12/1/06 I was whining about getting to work in a snowstorm.

    The theme here is “whining.”

Which, of course, I still do on a regular basis.

Funny Curmudgeon, I’ve linked you up on Blog-Op and you were moaning in the posts I chose there too - seems to be a pattern forming….

    Keep going Nueva York :-)

I heard about that GC, it’s complete madness-how are they ever going to make that money back?

  5. Pinksy Says:

Hey Chris, I was about to link back to this, but I noticed your own December 2006 archive has lost all its images. Have you moved your folders around and not updated your links?

  6. Chris Says:

Hi Pinksy, the photos all seem OK to me: Was it one particular post?

I did swap hosts in December, which meant I had to go through the SQL and alter the URL’s of my images, so I may have missed one.

  7. Pinksy Says:

It’s just when I click the “December 2006″ link on your left sidebar. Here’s what I see:

  9. Chris Says:

Yeah, the images aren’t shown in the archives, only post excerpts (must be theme related). If you click on a post, you should get the images OK.

    Oh right, interesting!
