Skittles has recently posted about self-worth & how some things she’s read had shaken her own sense of it, and made her question herself. It’s a topic that I’ve thought a lot about, and I would imagine, so have most people.
I’ve reached the conclusion that self worth is exactly that, and you should not allow others to undermine it. There are a lot of small, petty, deeply unhappy people out there, who make it their business to belittle other people, to question them and undermine them with the ultimate aim of trying to make them as unhappy as they are. Well, to be honest - fuck ‘em. I’ve encountered enough of these tiny-minded oxygen thieves in real life, not to worry about the increasing number who are only brave enough to venture into cyberspace to spread their bile.
I’ve seen massive blogs with thousands of readers, and ones as small as my own affected by mean spirited snides, posting poisonous comments, to the extent of forcing the blogger to question what they’re doing, or turn of comments altogether. Screw that, I write this measly? blog to share interesting & funny stuff, and also to have (albeit text-based) conversations with great people all over the world.? I mean, how cool is that? To sit here & chat to people in Cincinnati, Belgium, all over the world - I couldn’t have done it 10 years ago. I don’t mind if people post criticisms in comments, correct me if I’m wrong etc. I’ll put them up & reply to them. But if a comment is just plain nasty, or an attack on another commenter, it’s deleted,? you’re banned? & I’m moving on-life’s too short to waste time on you.
I decided years ago, if someone tries to bring me down, to write them off & leave them behind. I’ll take constructive criticism, and am always open to advice & new things, but if someone wants to be an asshole, I can’t even hear them anymore. Self worth? It’s what you make of it. Skittles has no need to worry - she’s got a family that loves her, a blog that attracts thousands of people, and has brought people from all over the world together to form new friendships - but has the humility to question herself, which is healthy.? People with no humility, who don’t question their own self-worth at all - they’re the ones who cause the most pain to others.
Rant over.

Can you ban certain people? Dude commented on my blos, and now looking at his… they are too close for comfort!
I don’t know about blogspot, although I would think so. On Wordpress I can ban individuals and IPs, so one way or another…
haha, thanks. Dude is cool now, he got rid of my template (which is free cause i got it online and all…) but still, I had made it my own….and he change some things JUST like mine. So frustrating.
Anyways, I guess it’s just my welcome to the blogging world
Keep on keepin’ on.
