Samsung G600 - Can You Live Up To It’s Image?

I don’t think I can ;-)

My old Motorola V600 has recently shuffled off it’s mortal coil, so I’m very much interested in a new phone, and it’s definitely not going to be one of those ‘iPoseur’ things from Apple, but it may just be the rather stylish Samsung G600:

This rather sleek little mobile is currently running a promotion where you can choose from a selection of photogenic club goers from the UK, all of whom have had their photo taken with the G600’s 5 megapixel camera: Samsung G600 Top thirty uber stylish clubs in the UK .

Check out the gallery and hand out your hot or not votes accordingly. While you’re there you can have a read of the their guide to the Top 30 most stylish clubs in the UK.

I quite like the look of the phone, as it’s a compact slider, and although I have a camera for taking photos with, not a phone, if you are going to use one, 5Mp + a flash isn’t to be sneezed at. Much more useful for me is the built in music player ( able to play all common music formats!), and full featured net browser.

Very nice - who’s going to buy me one?

I know this post is an advert but I have to say that Samsung phones have really bad interfaces - basic things like setting someones number to be a default (say the person has mobile , home, work and you want the mobile as default) can’t be done, I can on an old Siemens, a SE, a Nokia.
Have the SIm as a backup for the phone book - nope you end up with double entries that you then need to go and delete one at a time. Enter contacts via PC software, nope again only via Outlook
I thought Siemens was bad (it is) until I got a Samsung, never again.

If I’m totally honest GC, I agree with you. The thing I’ve always loved about Nokia’s is that you simply don’t need an instruction book, you can just pick them up & go.

No, bad Chrissie - you’ve already half inched your sisters, no more phones!

So far nokia has almost the same menu structure. It’s so simple to use even when you use a brand new phone model. no need instruction book. Samsung has changed the menu for several times since the old time I think… (a bit confusing when the first time i used samsung). But samsung has better quality on audio and display fairly.
