The school holidays have finally finished here in Scotland. Three weeks have passed, and  I dropped the boys off this morning resplendent in new shoes (bigger), new trousers (longer) and new haircuts (shorter).

While on the one hand, it’s nice to be sitting here, peaceful, with a cup of coffee before getting around to cleaning up the debris of the last 3 weeks, it is almost too quiet. It makes you remember that nothing lasts forever, and one day I’ll be sitting here quietly while they’re on the other side of the world, or at University. Time flies, and they grow (although with the amount they eat, that’s not surprising!) so quickly.

I daresay I’ll change my mind once they’ve been home half an hour tonight. ;-)

  1. My daughter almost 17 and my son will be 13 in two weeks and though the arguing between the two drives me nuts, I too will miss it in a few years. How old are your boys?

  2. Chris says:

    5 year old Twins!
