Ain’t this the truth?

Spoof Poster

I really resent having been ripped off by the film company for the DVD (£19.99, great value!) and then forced to sit through their whiny self-indulgent crap about why I shouldn’t get a pirated version. Er, I haven’t, I’ve just paid twice what it costs in the US and probably 20 times it’s actual value to get a legit version, so STFU and show the film.

Oh, and don’t make the 20 minutes of trailers for J-Lo’s next epic unskippable either, I paid for a film, not advertising. Sockcuckers.

Oh, tell me about it! Some of them you can skip thank god, but the others I usually wander off til it’s finished. If the little film about you actually being a car thief isn’t enough the music is the final nail in the coffin

  2. I hear you Chris, Alison.

The only time I don’t mind trailors is at the cinema.

  3. Chris, don’t some of these trailers just play on first viewing? It seems that this happens at least sometimes.

And, like David, I don’t mind the trailers at the ’show’ either — because that way, even though I’m invariably 15 minutes late I have a fighting chance of seeing the actual beginning of the movie.

I’ve not encountered that C, and the boys DVD’s are particularly bad. Thankfully they are developing my sense of cynicism already…

No I don’t mind at the cinema, it’s part of the experience, and as you say a useful buffer, but when you’ve paid £19 (Nearly $40) for a DVD….

I could NOT agree with you more.. I cannot STAND the unskippable trailers and all the warnings.. About the only thing you can try to do at that point is the fast forward, since selecting the next chapter usually gets me some error message like “Not allowed” when trying to skip it entirely..

  6. Chris says:

Hi Ryan, it’s an incentive to get a bootleg copy, ‘cos at least then you don’t have to sit through all the legal crap…

    Pay for it: Get lectured.
Don’t pay for it: Just see the film.

    Duh?
