This week’s theme is ‘Wild’.

Wild

This photo was taken about 7 years ago at Colchester Zoo. We were watching a falconry display & this guy came swooping across us & his tail feathers brushed my head as I was taking this photo. The title of the hunt this week reminds me of an old UK sketch show, ‘Not the 9 o’clock news’ and a sketch where a guy in a gorilla suit was playing the part of an ape who had been captured & taught how to speak. His captor was telling a chat show host how, when he had caught the gorilla, ‘he was completely wild’. ‘Wild?’ replies the gorilla, ‘I was absolutely livid!’.

See you got the MyBlogLogs widget in the end!

Oh, btw, I figured out the MySQL query to do the “top commentators” listing (see “Comment Stars” in my left sidebar). The query’s a bit bigger than I thought it would be, but it’s not insurmountable. I’ll put a post up about it soon…

I also figured out the MySQL to do a “most commented” section, which I’ve called “Popular Posts”. This was a slightly easier one. I’ll post about that too soon. I’m sure there’s people out there that would like to try it out… Who knows, it may get Dugg!

Pinksy, you are an SQL God. I impressed myself when I managed to transfer my SQL database from one host to another, let alone do what you’ve done. I am now positively begging for a Blog-Op contribution from you…

Please please please? :-) Glad the stumble went big, I’ve never had any of mine do that before - few hundred at best usually.

Thanks for the comments guys, on my way to yours….

I’m a bit afraid of large birds, so I would have had a fit if his wings had touched my head! Great photo! Thanks for visiting my photo hunt today!

Hi JUst to say great pic, it may well of been myself flying this bird on that day. Thought you might like to know his name is frue, and he is a feruginos hawk. He is now retired from displays to breed!

  21. Chris says:

Yes, I remember his name was Frue!

Glad to hear he’s still around, and thanks for the display :-)
