Since getting my shiny new digital camera just over a week ago, I’ve found myself spending more time playing with that and Flickr than blogging – I really just haven’t felt like getting in front of the keyboard to be honest.
Hope you’re all well, because I’ve been doing precious little reading as well, and I may has well share some of my recent photographic efforts with you to show that I have been doing something
This is one of my first attempts at HDR photography, where several images taken at different exposures are overlaid and generally poked around with – the net result should be lots more colour and lighting:

This is a view towards my town, from the old abandoned railway.
This next one is from a field just down the road: all the crops are in and the fields are being tidied up for winter, I liked the shadows being cast by the bales, and thought it would turn out nicely in black & white:

Finally, here’s a close-up of some flowers from Leith Hall gardens, where we visited last weekend:

This new camera is really nice, and I think it’s improved my photography already – or at least is covering up the deficiencies in it!
If for some reason, you’d like to see more of my pictures, click on any of them to go to my Flickr account, or visit my photoblog.
So, how are you all doing?

Your talents never cease to amaze me!
Those are fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing.
These are very nice photos — but I do hope you’ll be motivated to come back to your keyboard soon….
I love them
I’ve missed you! Now that I know what was keeping you away, all is forgiven!
The first shot towards town looks more like a painting than a photo. I mean that as a compliment. The B & W one is just stupendous. I like how it is dark at the top, and it just seems to really make you focus on the bales. I did a double-take on the flowers. They look just like teasel you find in Idaho, etc. Not sure what teasel is? Google it!
Thanks guys, I’m just having too much fun with my new camera
Thanks Webduck, that’s very kind of you – and that was the word I was looking for: Teasel! I’d been racking my brains for ages…..
Wow, i like this black and withe picture. Great shot.
Is the b&w photo HDR as well?
Thank you.
No, the B&W isn’t actually, the Canon 400D is just a very nice camera
