Make It So
One thing that helped kill off my remaining affection for the Trek franchise was the hideous Brannon Braga & co’s increasing reliance on technobabble to sew up the plot holes - stuff like this:
You must re-route the flow of verteron particles to a tractor beam generator to detect a field inversion to the nucleocentric containment matrix.

That little snippet was provided by the Treknobabble Generator, which serves up random gibberish on each click, and would have no doubt served the scriptwriters well in the latter seasons. It’s the absence of this crap that makes the new Battlestar Galactica so watchable…. that and Tricia Helfer

I know Pinksy likes BSG, anyone else?

Never watched BSG,Farscape was a belter though.

Cylons are certainly much better looking in this edition of BSG — but the stories are so dark we haven’t watched. (We used to call the original BSG “Battlestar Ponderosa” — do you know why?)
And Farscape was dark, too, but it had it’s moments and I also miss it.

Barnze, your MyBlogLog avatar is hugely annoying - well done
I always thought that Lorne Green should have launched his own grass fertiliser…
BSG is a classic, and well worth watching. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen of Farscape, never really got into it though.

Geez, I hate being the lone dissenter, but I really liked the original BSG better. It was kitchy, granted. I don’t have anything against the new BSG, but the show I really, really liked was Babylon 5. Now, that was a show with some drama and plot twists.

Wasn’t she in last month’s Playboy?

I did like the old show, but having seen some re-runs recently - meh. Besides: Galactica 1980-need I say more?
Melissa I had no idea, do they have a back issues department?

I doublechecked when I got home - she was indeed in the February issue. Some judicious googling would probably take you to the back issues department.

Hey, I’m sat in a hotel room in Salt Lake City, Utah (work trip). When’s BSG on?!
March 13th, 2007 at 8:40 am
Most men of a certain like BSG for that reason.

Melissa, I couldn’t possibly do that…BRB…..I’m blind!
Very nice Pinksy, aren’t you at risk of getting burnt at the stake there? (Have you seen that South Park episode about the Mormons? ‘Dumb dumb dumb’….)
Claire, where should I insert it?
March 13th, 2007 at 9:31 am
BTW Pinksy, with Bitorrent, the answer is ‘always’!
I think it’s Friday nights on Sci-Fi - how long you there for?

The mormon thing is really big here, that’s for sure. It’s a bit weird really.
