London Olympic Logo - The Goatse Version
Further to my post about the hideous 2012 London Olympics logo, it’s been quite the hot news item in the UK as you can imagine.
Lots of amateur designers have thrown their designs up online, and the BBC has taken to publishing some of them online, or in their TV programmes. One clever soul decided to base their logo on the infamous ‘Goatse’* picture and sent it off to the BBC, after all, they’d never publish it would they?
As this clip from BBC London news shows, oh yes they did (it’s the first design):
*Goatse: If you do not know what it is, you do NOT want to Google it. Trust me, things that have been seen, cannot be unseen, and you don’t ever want to see that. But if you have been scarred by this image, you will at least enjoy the video
If you would like a designers view of the whole logo debacle, have a read of David Airey’s excellent London Olympic 2012 logo disaster post.
Thanks to Erika for showing me the vid.
EDIT
Evil YouTube have taken the video down, so you’ll have to take my word for the fact that it was actually broadcast on the BBC, but if you’re wondering what the logo looked like, wonder no more:

Hey Chris,
It’s amusing eh? I think the only reason they showed it was because it looks like a two year old made it.
Thanks very much for the link to my article.

Oh god, I can see it again, I think I’m going to be sick…..

Apparently the guy who drew it told the BBC in his email, it symbolised Londoners pulling together….
