Lego Minis

My love for the little knobbly bricks is well known, and if you can combine them with Sci-fi then you will have my undying admiration :-)

Which is what Chris Deck has achieved with his Lego Mini Models.

Lego Super Star Destroyer

He has constructed over 100 models based on Star Wars out of standard Lego parts, and his site has photos and detailed build instructions for each of them. Excellent.

Then I noticed he also does Battlestar Galactica models as well….

whats really cool is that all those models were made from standard parts and not from a lego kit. While I understand the attraction of the kits, they’ve always seamed a little counter-productive to me. The point of lego (to me at least) has always been to creat stuff using your imagination. When you have a kit that only allows you to create one or two things out of it, that seams to defeat the whole purpose of the toys. Heres proof that you can do it without using kits… although you probably need salvaged bits from some of those kits.

That’s the thing, I was always one piece short of an interesting model….
