And there’s nothing wrong with that :-)

John Chow writes an excellent self-titled blog, which is on my (already lengthy) feed list and is always one of my first reads of the day. His blog is a mixture of tech news, blogging tips, money making schemes and clips of his life. Very engagingly written, I find myself reading every post, even if occasionally, the subject matter is not hugely relevant to me. The number of blogging tips I’ve picked up from John in such a short time have been invaluable – it was his tip that led to the ‘Top Commentators’ list in the top left of my blog that has proved so popular.

John first hit the internet in 1999 after several years as a partner at a Vancouver printing firm. His first site has morphed into The TechZone, with which he is still heavily involved, and with 200,000 page views a day, it’s a major success story. It’s a cool site as well, tons of tech news & reviews and a great price comparison shopping service, along with a very active forum.

John Chow Dot Com is an object lesson in setting out a clear, easy to read template, and (by design) it encourages you to click on ‘just one more post’ through his clever use of plugins and layout. John has made some serious cash from his work, and isn’t afraid to show you how he did it, and give you some tips as well. It’s all written with such a sense of fun and enjoyment, you can’t help but wish him well.

I genuinely enjoy John’s site, and would recommend him anyway, but as an added bonus, he is giving out links for reviews, and that makes it even better. Cheers John!

Hi Alex, I’ve spammed up your blog with my answer, but for anyone else interested: Not a great deal of traffic (about 20 or 30 visitors)but the value is in the permanent link from a high rated web site for Technorati & Google page rank reasons…
