- How the hell do you find people on Facebook? I search for ‘Fred smith’ and am presented with 500 Fred Smiths from around the world, but the only way to find out who they are is to randomly click on their friends to see if there’s any mutual acquaintances or add them as a random friend in a stalkerish fashion. There must be an easier way?
- While I’m on about this new-fangled social meeja, is there really any point to Twitter? It really looks like the most pointless boring thing ever, but evidently I’m in a minority, so can anyone explain?
- Oh, and up to the minute as ever I’ve finally started messing about with Last.FM and I can see the point to this one. If the widget appears to the lower right you can track down my eclectic musical choices, and perhaps share yours with me. Except Alison because Emo is for 15 year olds

I think we got our answer!…
Yep! Actually I think I set it to a maximum number, perhaps I should change it to like 20 or something, and see how small it gets.
BTW, congratulations, yours was comment 6,666. The mark of the Dyslexic Beast?
I totally agree with you on this! I was looking for a friend who I knew was on FB. I typed in their name and there were a hundred or so others. I gave up and told them to find me. *LOL*
I only use twitter ’cause I have it linked to update FB when I tweet, so I kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
Watch out Tish, you’re dangerously close to the leading edge!
I shouldn’t bite cos you want me to, but I don’t do EMO any more than John Fusciante THANK GOD.
Oh, and you can find further friends on FB by using the Email friend finder, recommendations and going through another friends contacts to see if you know anyone there. Other than that you could just ask people to add you via here if they know you!
Who’s John Fusciante?
That’s ok unless you’re looking people from a long time ago – you know, before email……
Careful, Chris, you’re moving to my side of the street….
I crossed over long ago……
No idea about facebook thing, I only use it because friends and family do.
I get hits for you every other week on my blog though, what have you done?
I love twitter! You can use it when your out and about hiking, upload pictures using twitpic, get latest updates from football teams (Everton, woot). Promote your blog, find interesting people. Ask questions and get really good information back etc etc.
Its also like a non instant messenger service
You have so so musical taste, Pinksy has much more taste than you.
hey release from comment moderation evilness!
It’s picking everyone except the spammers up at the moment! However, keep being cheeky & you’ll be back in there!
What haven’t I done? Lots actually……
I might try Twitter, but it looks like I may need a life first…..
Hah! You two would benefit from listening to some of my picks, you’re missing out on some top stuff. Having said that I’m just about to add Tears For Fears – it’s always 1984 on the Thermal blog…….
I do have some old stuff in my selection, I have very eclectic taste
Its nice to move with the times though……..
The world will not end if you don’t end up twittering but I have found it strangely addictive.
I do move with the times: Grinderman came out last year, and Frusciante’s latest last week!
Stupid spam filter…..
