If you’re in the UK and you have CD’s, DVD’s or games that you don’t need anymore, then HitFlip could be a great alternative to the extortionate postage and other rip-offs associated with auction sites. It’s a very simple idea that basically works like this:

Sign up for a free account, and list the items you no longer want. They will automatically be rated a certain number of ‘flips’. Another user who wants your item will request it and you post it to them at your own expense-your account will then be credited with the agreed flips. You can than use these flips to request items off of other members who will then post them to you. Only the sender pays postage, and no monies are exchanged between members.

The only money involved is a small fee to HitFlip to cover the cost of their guarantee, which protects you against non-delivered/damaged items. No overcharging on postage, no worries about people not paying you, it sounds like a great idea: Interested? Then follow the link to Swap movies, books and games in Great Britain.

  1. I checked out the Hitflip site but in the end decided to sign up with another UK based website. Its called http://www.swapshop.co.uk and is like Hitflip in that it allows you to swap media such as DVD’s, games, music and books. Swapshop actually allows you to list your item at the value ’swap points’ you like. Another huge plus is that Swapshop is completely free to use as well as offering a Trading Guarantee!
