This is a very interesting idea: HelpWithChange.com. In a nutshell, it’s three guys with an idea to make money, and possibly change their country and with it maybe the world.
Jason, Nick and Mike are three entrepreneurs who are in the process of developing a new businees, Kuzoa, which aims to be a new kind of online social networking world, but of course it requires capital to get it off the ground. This was the driving force behind setting up HelpWithChange.com, with the twin aims of raising capital and maybe making a difference.
The premise is simple: As an American, donate only $1 and then contribute your idea, your concerns, your beefs, whatever is on your mind to make the US a better place. Basically, tell them how you would change America. This will be recorded on the site, and open to public voting. You can vote on as many of the ideas that you approve of that you like.
Then, on the 4th of July (good choice of date
) they guys will take the top 500 ideas, publish them in a book, and then deliver a copy to the President, along with all candidates for the 2008 Presidential elections.
No matter what you may think the chances of the President sitting down with a copy are, it’s a very interesting idea, and one that could incite a large amount of debate. I think we all feel like nobody listens to us, especially politicians, and its something that Jason, Nick & Mike have encountered whilst attempting to raise capital for their project - this inspired them, to go and do something for themselves, and the book may be your chance to get heard. If enough people contribute, and vote and debate, the ideas that come out of this could be heard, and may be acted on - one thing for sure about politicians is that they never miss a chance at publicity, and adopting some of the ideas that come out of this project may just give them that.
So, if you feel like you’ve got something to say, along with a spare dollar, why not have a go? If you don’t speak, you will never be heard….
