WordPress is four years old today!
Lorelle has even found the post that led to the creation of WordPress, and as Matt said at the time:
‘….now all I need is a name. What should it do? Well, it would be nice to have the flexibility of MovableType, the parsing of TextPattern, the hackability of b2, and the ease of setup of Blogger. Someday, right?’
Someday. It it an amazing piece of work, free, regularly updated, free of ads, it’s everything good about the web. When I typed ‘how to start blogging’ into Google 2 months ago (Is that all? I feel like I’ve been here years…) I’m so glad WordPress was up high – I wouldn’t change, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’d like to switch to/start with WP it’s easier than you think. I’ve written a little article on it here, and would be happy to help you out – you wouldn’t regret it.
