A nice idea, still in beta so it’s a little slow but on the right track: Open Stock Photography.
All images listed at Open Stock Photography come from Wikimedia Commons and as such “can be used by anyone, for any purpose”
This means that you can take a photo like the one above and use it freely on your webpage or blog. Thousands of images are available, and they even come with a colour swatch to enable you to find one to suit the scheme of your blog/website. The main requirement of the licence is that you don’t attempt to sell it, or pass it off as your own. Which is fair enough.
