OK, we go walking in the hills with our 5 YO twins. We check the weather is not going to be too bad. We take planned walks where we know the distance, we have maps, compasses etc. and the boys walking gear & waterproofs are probably better than ours. Over the winter we have been starting at dawn to get the most daylight possible to complete the walk, and allow for things to go wrong etc.
A 14 month old baby up Englands highest mountain starting at midday? With a 5 YO as well? Dear God.
OK, Scafell is a mere pimple compared to what some of you in the US & Canada have, but people have died on it, and in bad weather it’s not to be taken lightly.
You need a licence to drive a car, but any fool can breed…..

It gets worse. After they SUCCESSFULLY climb the highest mountain in the UK, they have a tendency to come over here and decide to just “pop up” to the top of the mountains around Banff.
A few dozen a year get dragged off mountains by helicopter. In shorts and tee shirts. From elevations where it drops below freezing every night.
Idiots.
We should just let natural selection run it’s course….
The only qualification required for parenthood is genitals!
