Patrick worries. Patrick worries about everything & everyone. Patrick is 4 years old.
A fighter plane flies over our car as we drive home one evening.
“Daddy”
“Yes Patrick?”
“How do planes see where they’re going when it’s dark?”
“Radar Patrick” (there follows a brief, child-friendly explanation of radar)
“Daddy?”
“Yes Patrick?”
“I’m worried”
“Whats wrong?”
” When I’m grown up, when I ‘m flying my plane in the dark, I won’t be able to use my radar.”
“….Why not? Someone will show you..”
“But my helmet might get in my way, because no-ones showed me how to put it on properly and…”
“Patrick, stop worrying, its a long time away, and I’m sure they’ll show you how to put your helmet on, before they give you a plane”
“Ok”
Later, while putting to bed:
“Daddy, (furrowed brows, concerned look) planes are very high, how will I get into it, and…”
“Goodnight Patrick”
“Night Daddy”
