In my sidebar on the left, just under the blogroll you should see my SpringWidget displaying a live feed of my other blog, Blog-Op. This fantastic little tool was supplied for free as part of my FeedBurner account.

I think it’s an excellent way to publicise your other blogs, as it allows people to scroll down & read it without leaving this site. See a post that you like, simply click on it & it will take you direct to that post on the other blog.

I also have a smaller version in the About page of Blog-Op linking to a live feed of Thermal. It’s a great way of attracting (Or I guess, repelling!) new visitors as they can read what you have to say without leaving the site they’re on.

You can get a SpringWidget as part of your FeedBurner account, or go direct to the SpringWidget website. They are available for Blogger, MySpace, plain HTML and others. It took me less than 5 minutes to set up & install here.

This has given me a new idea to promote my favourite blogs: If you get yourself a SpringWidget, email me the HTML code provided (thermalblog@gmail.com) and I’ll start a new page under my ‘About’ page showing them - If it works, it may be a good way for my readers to try before they click.

  1. I like it. It is a good tool to publicise your favorite blogs. I might try it too:-)

  2. It’s really good isn’t it. I love FeedBurner & their toys, they really should sponsor me. If you do it, mail me the HTML & I’ll put it up somewhere here as well.
