The A-team: what a fabulous show, and something that has been sorely lacking from Saturday evening schedules for too many years….
This is supposed to be a parody, but I actually think it’s just like a normal episode. Well, apart from BA’s lactose intolerance

In the UK many years ago a horrible little car named the Reliant Robin was made. Three wheels, made of fibreglass they were truly an abortion of automotive engineering.
Recently, Top Gear, a UK motoring show decided to turn one into a space shuttle, fire it thousands of feet into the air, separate it from the boosters and tanks & glide it back to a landing. It nearly worked….

There’s something so wrong about this Teletubbies video clip:
Actually, scrub that, there’s just something so wrong about the Teletubbies. And just what is ‘Tubby Custard’? I’m so glad the boys preferred the Tweenies….

One thing that helped kill off my remaining affection for the Trek franchise was the hideous Brannon Braga & co’s increasing reliance on technobabble to sew up the plot holes – stuff like this:
You must re-route the flow of verteron particles to a tractor beam generator to detect a field inversion to the nucleocentric containment matrix.

That little snippet was provided by the Treknobabble Generator, which serves up random gibberish on each click, and would have no doubt served the scriptwriters well in the latter seasons. It’s the absence of this crap that makes the new Battlestar Galactica so watchable…. that and Tricia Helfer

I know Pinksy likes BSG, anyone else?

If you’ve ever wondered what was going on in the titles, just after Maggie & Marge honk the car’s horn, this kind person has made a panorama of the images so you can see – Excellent.

Red Dwarf is one of my favourite TV shows of all time, and this scene is a classic.
A creature called a Polymorph is on board, and can adopt the shape of any item it wants. Currently it’s in the form of a kebab, but the situation calls for it to shift to something else. Meanwhile the mechanoid (robot) Kryten is vacuuming, but unfortunately his hoover attachment only fits in a rather unfortunate place….

Or is that The Simpsons Real House? Anyway, although this dates from 1997 I hadn’t seen it before. Apparently Fox & Pepsi got together for a promotion, and built a full-scale replica of the Simpsons home. It was won by a 63 year old Grandma, Barbara Howard.
Lots more photos and a virtual tour can be found

How cool is this man? Zapp Brannigan Capt. Kirk was a definite hero of mine growing up, I mean, whats not to like?? Always gets the girls, always wins the fight, and drives a big starship-the careers office never had a job like it. Say what you like about the old series: from The Next Generation onwards, it all seemed a bit wishy-washy.
You could never imagine Picard kicking Khans butt for him can you?
“Sir, shields are failing, we’re about to be destroyed!”
“I’ve got it Number One,? invite Khan over for a piano recital, Counsellor Troi can give massages, and ask them about their feelings, and I’ll recite Shakespeare to them until they see the error of their ways!”
“Is that all you’ve got sir?”
“Of course not! We’ll finish the evening in the holodeck, I’ll be Sherlock Holmes, Data can be Watson…”
Pah.
