So what would you do if you were suddenly taken out of your comfortable reality, and dumped in a strange city, with no access to money, no resources and nowhere to stay? That’s the premise of USA Network’s Burn Notice, a new original series premiering on June 28th.

It tells the story of CIA agent, Michael Westen, who while on assignment suddenly becomes the recipient of a ‘Burn Notice’ which effectively means he becomes untouchable, a non-person, with his bank accounts frozen and his details deleted. It’s quite a scary premise when you think about it, especially given how much of our lives are stored on computer these days. Your money only exists in a theoretical sense, just a series of number in the bank’s computer, your life itself is stored on a number of other government systems, and if you are ceased from them, it’s like you’ve ceased to exist. I could see myself in short order being forced to eat out of the dumpster out back of Subway or something, as I’m not that much of a secret agent, but earning some cash would have to be a high priority, as everything else leads off from having some money available. Actually, I think I’d probably just cry! ;-)

The series looks pretty interesting and there’s some notable names in it like Gabrielle Anwar and Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey is still being shown on cable!) and there’s some short clips of the show available if you follow the above link. One things for sure: Agent Westen will make a better job of survival than I would!

  1. not sure I think its the best choice for actor in a lead role….

  2. I think that I would go to farm areas and work for a farmer out in the middle of nowhere. Or maybe turn to a forger and get a false I.D.

p.s. I have a new viral link device at my blog, it can get you some extra traffic, feel free to check it out at
