Credit cards have been in the news a lot recently, due to a large UK retailer, TK Maxx getting hacked and losing the details of thousands of customers credit cards. I’ve held a credit card for many years, and thankfully have so far not suffered any losses. Although you personally can’t legislate for what happened to TK Maxx, you are at least covered against this kind of activity, and will not lose money unless you are negligent with your details.
Although some people may prefer to stick with cash, I enjoy the benefits of my 0% credit cards to spread the debt and also to insure any larger items I buy, and that’s something cash can’t do! For sure, card providers and retailers should be more careful with our details, but the UK Consumer Credit Act still offers a great deal of portection, as long as you are careful.
