For those of you using WordPress, who’d like to insert audio into your blog posts, the player I used for my previous post was the Audio Player WordPress Plugin from 1 Pixel Out.

Very easy to install, it enables you to play any MP3 file from a blog post. It can also be used for podcasting, so I could start talking to you: Who wants to hear my cockney-Australian twang? (don’t ask).

The other good thing about this plugin is that it doesn’t start playing until you press play: I hate those blogs that start playing music at you as soon as you land on them-apart from their taste in music usually being awful, they have no means of switching it off, and it clashes horribly with whatever you’re playing on your PC at the time :-(

  1. Nice plugin, Chris. Thanks for the tip.

Another cool thing you can do is embed an entire Jamendo album on your page. You can hear my choice of Jamendo album of the week by pressing the play button in the box entitled “Listen” over at The Far Corner. I’m picking a new album every Sunday.

The beauty is that everything on Jamendo is legally freely downloadable, so if you hear something you like, you can always go and download the album for your MP3 (or OGG) player.

  2. Chris says:

Not heard of Jamendo, thanks Baxter I shall have a look.

  3. Beware, Chris – Jamendo’s current status is 3336 published albums. You may be gone some time :-)
