Can You Go Without? Shutdown Day

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I’ve seen this in a few places now: Shutdown Day.
It is obvious that people would find life extremely difficult without computers, maybe even impossible. If they disappeared for just one day, would we be able to cope?
Be a part of one of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the internet. The idea [...]

Sink Hole

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

This is pretty horrific; imagine hearing a noise in the night, and opening your door to see this:

Eek. Over 330 feet deep, and possibly caused by leaking sewer and water services, this hole in Guatemala has already claimed two lives. Too scary by half.
Picture from The Cellar, where they also have a wider angle shot.

Magazine Subscriptions [P]

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Despite spending altogether too many hours on the internet, I still enjoy reading magazines - it’s nice to be able to site in a comfy chair, with a coffee and have a read, without being cramped over a monitor. Magazines are quite expensive however, when shop bought, but you can save anything up to [...]

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Ouch, my puns get worse.
Erika has found this brilliant photo blog, consisting of dozens of photos of balancing stones. No, wait come back! Look at this:

Unbelievable isn’t it? There are dozens of photos like this, some of which you think must be glued, some are natural, and there’s some ancient stone circles as well, ‘cos [...]

I think we’ve all been there, saying one thing, and thinking another as loudly as we can…

Erika, yesterday.

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

The vast majority of my visitors are from the US and Canada, so you should find this service really useful: Lemon Free Car Classifieds. As the name suggests, the site is a totally free way to both sell your car, or find the automobile of your dreams.
It has a very easy to use search function, [...]

Love Song

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Bill Bailey is one of my favourite comedians: totally surreal, hysterically funny and a very talented musician, which he uses to good effect.
Check out his love song

Antivirus Download [P]

Monday, February 26th, 2007

If you use a PC and are connected to the internet (as you’re reading this, I’ll take that as a yes on both counts) along with a firewall, you really have to have some antivirus software. Anti virus software protects against the introduction of viruses onto your PC via media such as floppy disks, CD’s [...]
