Well, these Goji Berries seem to be gaining in popularity, everywhere I go now seems to be talking about them. I guess the best way to sample them would be Goji juice, as fruit juices are one of the most popular ways to get the benefits of fruit. Goji berries are apparently really high in anti-oxidants, the naturally occurring substance that is supposed to have very beneficial effects on the human body. According to the site, they may aid in reducing your chances of succumbing to various diseases as well as alleviating the effects of aging. Goji berries have a massively high amount of these anti oxidants, approximately 3 times the level of pomegranates, and approximately 15 times the level of that found within spinach! This site will supply the dried berries to eat or cook with (Goji berry muffins?) the juice to drink, liquid vitamins, and organic seaweed fertiliser. Why the fertiliser? Because they also supply Goji berry seeds so you can grow your own! You can buy for yourself, or wholesale to sell on, and shipping is free on order over $40 inside the continental US. The alleged worlds oldest man was a regular eater of Goji berries, and he was reputed to have lived to the age of 252! while you may not make it that far, a healthy diet will certainly set you on the way.

For breaking the 100 comment barrier in less than a month, this trophy has been hard-earned despite stiff competition from Erika and Claire. What will be the record by the end of January? Remember, the counter should reset to zero on the 1st February, so the trophy will be up for grabs again.

(Any resemblance of the trophy to Rose is purely coincidental - it was the first free clipart I found….) It’s my Mum’s birthday shortly and I really ought to start organising a gift for her. Being a typical male, shopping is not my number one past time, so its yet another reason to be thankful for the internet, as there’s always a website out there with the right gift on it! One of those sites that enables you to send flowers is DotFlowers.com. Their bright and well designed website has a multitude of gift options, from simple flowers, to gift baskets and all manner of gourmet treats, from savoury food to delicious cookies. Although they specialise in delivery to the mainland US, they will make every effort to assist with international orders if you contact them by phone, and they offer a satisfaction guarantees on their services. All in all, a site to bookmark for future use! Hate it. Black Liqourice (or licorice depending on your continent):
I really don’t like this stuff. I can just about bear it on ‘Liquorice Allsorts’, which are coated in so much sugary, fondanty stuff that you can’t really taste it, but on it’s own: yuk.
Red liquorice (which I guess, isn’t actually real liquorice) is a different matter altogether, I could eat that stuff ’til it comes out of my ears. Did you ever endure certain sweets (candy) as a child that you really didn’t like, but as they were the only things on offer you ate them anyway? I can think of:
Sometimes, sweets held no pleasure at all…. Image from natilelee.com I love a good optical illusion - click on the link to the site, and watch the pink dots go around in a circle. Now stare at the + sign in the middle, and the moving dot will turn green. The human brain is a strange thing…. Fred Flintstone may have clocked off down the tail of a Brontosaur, but how about leaving your office down one of these?
Trouble is you’d never get any work done:
” I’ve just got to take this document to the ground floor.” “What, again? Haven’t you heard of email?” “Wheee!”
Found on, and lots more pictures at: Media Bum. Many thanks for all your comments & the time spent having a look - it’s very much appreciated. The TestBlog is now on it’s third version which seems happier in IE - I haven’t had a chance to see if I can fiddle with it’s colours yet, but it looks nice initially. As I’ve mentioned in the comments, my existing template will have to go, because it is not going to be compatible with all the new features of WP 2.1. I would like a 3 column layout, as I’m using one on Blog-Op, and I just think they look nicer. Still, I’m keeping an open mind. I would also like to re-iterate my contempt for Microsoft for being unable to build a browser capable of rendering modern websites, constructed to international standards, properly. Their arrogance in ignoring this issue is truly amazing. Well if writing up all these posts ever leads me to my fortune, I might be in the market for some of these! Gold has been a means of displaying and retaining wealth for thousands of years, and never more so than today. Investment in precious metals such as gold and silver has long been seen as a good bet for safeguarding your savings, and for 30 years Monex has been the trusted name in the US for investing in these items. World demand for silver has never been higher than now, and in fact demand has exceeded world production every year since 1990. The US governments massive reserves are now gone, and they are a major silver buyer. All this means that an investment in silver or gold bars is likely to be a good investment. A good start may be to buy a US Eagle gold coin from Monex. Legal tender and with a face value of $50, it could also make a nice gift investment for a young relative. Gak. I hate painting. We went over to Steph’s parents today & painted their kitchen for them. I didn’t mind that, but the actual act of painting is one that fills me with ‘meh’. What made it worse (apart from keeping me off the internet all day) was that they have a fetish for paint colour euphemistically known as ‘Magnolia’. You may know it as beige. So, instead of thinking ‘this is nice’ as you paint, I was just thinking ‘well, this is…..paint’ the whole day. To top it off, they were using a paint called ‘Once’ meaning that you only need one coat. After applying the second coat, and still seeing green poking through, I decided the name meant ‘ Buy this crap once, and you’ll never buy it again’. So, how was your Saturday? |
